Erika de Reynosa expands her operations plant; invest more than 9 million dollars

With an investment of more than 9 million dollars , the Erika de Reynosa Norte company inaugurated two operating plants . These are buildings 3 and 4, with which it will generate 1,200 new sources of employment .

This expansion ceremony is the first to be held officially since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The skilled workforce that we have in Reynosa has shown a high level of quality and commitment to sustain the lives of thousands of patients with kidney failure around the world," said Jesús González Romero, Senior Director of Manufacturing.

Steve Buchanan, vice president of human resources for GMQS Americas Region, emphasized the value that Erika de Reynosa brings to the Fresenius Medical Care corporate.

"Our patients only live and thrive if we provide them with the highest quality products, and over the years we have been able to rely on Reynosa employees to source these products, and for that we are very grateful and proud," said Buchanan.

"My recognition, the fact that they are expanding this company where they will be offering 1,250 new jobs to reach 4,700, is synonymous with trust and the good work of the qualified workforce in Reynosa," said Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, governor of the state, who was linked to the inauguration ceremony via videoconference.

The event was attended as guests by Carlos García González, Secretary of Economic Development of Tamaulipas; Marcial Zapata, director of environment, health and safety of index Reynosa; as well as Alberto Lara Bazaldúa and Fernando Salgado Delgado, union representatives.

The company started in 1988 as a packaging area for kits that contained what is known as band-aids, even syringes. Later, in 1991, he began the transition from McAllen, Texas, to Reynosa, to begin with the ensemble.

By 1996 peritoneal product was transferred from Utah, USA; this component is currently growing. In this regard, Jesús González Romero commented that there will be more new products from this plant. 

After the McAllen plant closed in 1998, the molding, melting, plastics and assembly areas were transferred to Reynosa.

"To ensure the quality and safety of the goods for our customers, the products made at the Reynosa plant are certified by the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks and the United States Food and Drug Administration," González explained. .

There were several transfers of plants in the US to Reynosa, and the integration of new areas to the company, such as plastic manufacturing in 2007, in this way it is processed for various types of plastic manufacturing.
