Guanajuato's manufacturing sector generated 745,880 million pesos in 2020; ranking fourth nationally

Guanajuato generated a manufacturing value of 745,880 million pesos during 2020, according to the annual report of indicators of the Manufacturing Sector, which is why it ranks fourth nationwide in production value.

Mauricio Usabiaga Díaz Barriga, head of the Secretariat for Sustainable Economic Development of the State of Guanajuato , said that the organization is committed to strengthening the productive and labor plant and an orderly and responsible economic reactivation process in the region.

He explained that the manufacturing subsectors that presented the highest growth are: the food industry with an increase of 7%, printing and related industries had an increase of 7.0% and the manufacture of transportation equipment improved 5.7 percent.

The manufacture of transportation equipment represented 52.6% of the value of Manufacturing Production in the entity and showed a positive absolute variation of 21,289 million pesos .

Other industries in the secondary sector that also showed positive growth during 2020 were: the manufacture of textile inputs or textile finishes, printing of related industries and the manufacture of metal products , among others. 

Currently, the SDES  implements different actions to continue promoting the industry of Guanajuato that allows to continue generating development and growth that is reflected in the benefit of Guanajuato.
