Investments strengthen the growth of La Laguna

Coahuila

By Luis Mendez

José Luis Hotema, president of the Automotive Cluster Laguna (CAL) shared the Laguna Region is in a good growth due to investments received in recent months and those to come.

The manager said that the area has been explored by various companies in the automotive industry to establish themselves, either new plants or seeking to expand their operations.

“They are companies that are installed in Saltillo, Ramos Arizpe or in some cities on the border. They are interested in La Laguna because of the hard-working people that are here and because of their quality of workmanship. We hope that the generation of jobs will continue ”, expressed José Luis Hotema.

In that sense, the cluster leader said that the investment issue is on the right track, recently companies such as Alfagomma Group and Milwaukee Tools were installed, so he considers that thanks to them some of the companies that function as a supply chain could arrive and, in turn, increase the competitiveness of local suppliers that seek to interact with them.

300 MILLION PESOS INVESTED IN TRANSPORTATION

Recently, the Laguna Region received an investment from a personnel transportation company, with the intention of facilitating the logistics of workers seeking to get to their workplace.

The first stage consists of 200 units, which reflects the growth of local plants that require this type of service, since the current ones are exhausted.

José Luis Hotema highlighted the importance of the investment issue, since the corridor that is currently being built from Mazatlán to Piedras Negras will provide an advantage for the logistics of exports that leave the Lagunera region.

“The corridor project is coming, in addition to that, we must take into account the Industrial Park that is coming in Parras, a city that is considered to be in the Laguna Region. Thanks to this project, economic activity will be detonated, especially in the maquila industry, a very common practice in these areas, "said the interviewee.

To conclude, the president of the cluster affirmed that the 32 associated companies have prioritized the health issue with their staff, so they hope to continue with their activities following all protocols, preventing any outbreak of contagion from arising and forcing them to close operations such as past year.
