Jalisco consolidates 19 investment projects for more than 1,840 million pesos

So far in 2020, the Jalisco Secretariat for Economic Development (Sedeco) has completed 19 projects , both for new investments and for expansion, for an amount greater than 1,840 million pesos (mp).
These new acquisitions will generate around 6,448 new jobs , which will be through the Invest in Jalisco program . In this way, the state expresses its commitment to continue working to promote investment attraction.
Ernesto Sánchez Proal, head of Sedeco, commented that they have had good results in attracting investment in the first two quarters of the year. And these negotiations are related to strategic sectors such as the automotive, pharmaceutical, electronics, information technology sectors , among others.
This year, the government institution has only participated in three face-to-face international events before the pandemic began, but they found different opportunities to take advantage of new technologies and adapt to the new normal.
Sergio Ríos Martínez, general director of investment attraction at Sedeco, stated that so far this year they have implemented the virtual promotion with the Embassies of Israel, Canada, Arab Countries, Germany, the Pacific Alliance and the Free Zones of Latin America . They have also made presentations to 15 companies interested in investing in Jalisco and have been provided with information about the advantages that the state has so that they can settle.
In addition, they have participated in presentations before the Mexico-China Chamber, Talent Home, University of San Diego, American Chamber of Commerce; they launched the No Touching Business Meeting platform, which has been relevant among entrepreneurs in the region; They have also participated in events held by the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
Of the projects obtained by the state of Jalisco, 7 are new investments that amount to more than 860 million pesos , and are projected to generate 4,704 new jobs .
Some national and foreign companies that are already installed in the region, will complete 12 expansion projects and are within the automotive industry, information technology, metalworking and electronics, which will invest around 980 million pesos and will employ more than 1,744 people .
With these actions, the new investments and the expansion of companies established in Jalisco, contribute to the recovery and economic reactivation of the entity and the country.
