The harness industry is growing in Chihuahua, said Jesús Duarte, director of TSK North America.
It is commonly believed that harnesses are only used in the automotive sector, but in reality they are used for other areas as well: appliances, electronics and the aerospace sector.
"Until 2019, we are in the sixth place in automotive production," continued Duarte.
“In Mexico we have the big car manufacturers (OEM), such as GM Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, BWM and Audi. For this reason, we specialize in the harness industry, for both light and heavy vehicles. In addition, we are the number one exporter of auto parts ”, he continued.
In a matter of white goods, there is Samsung, Sony, Sharp, Hisense and Electrolux (Chihuahua).
In total, 54% of Tier 1s located in Mexico are from the automotive industry, among which are Continental, Bosch, Flex, Lear, Prettl, Bombardier, Furukawa , among others.
"Mexico, in auto parts, exports 12 million 491,255 pesos, which gives it the second place in exporter worldwide, surpassing the United States," he said.

The harness specialist commented that Chihuahua is "the harness capital of the world," due to the large presence of this sector in the state. “Ciudad Juárez has 143 harness plants, between small, medium and large; northern Mexico has 300 plants; and the south has 100 plants ”, he declared.
It should be added that 90% of the harnesses produced in Mexico are exported to North America (Canada and the United States).
"For this reason, events that promote the harness industry are important for companies and industries to benefit each other by knowing and working together," concluded Duarte.
