In 2018, the agro-industrial and agricultural GDP participated with 10.9% of Chihuahua's total GDP. This sector maintains an average annual participation of 44% of the state's total manufacturing industry. Chihuahua ranks first nationally in the harvest of apple, soybean, bone cotton, nut, oatmeal, grain oats, potato seed, green fodder wheat, green fodder oats, peanuts, alfalfa and onions.

Chihuahua has about 1.12 million hectares destined for agricultural use, 51% of which is irrigated. It ranks first in the nation in exports of standing calves to the United States. It also has the second place in the production of green chili, cherry, peach and green triticale.
It occupies the third place in bovine inventory with participation of 7%, as well as in green forage triticale, bovine milk, grain wheat seed, watermelon and bean seed. It occupies the fourth place nationally in production of quince, beef and cattle. And the fifth place in production of beans, sweet potato and goat milk.
