The state of Colima borders the state of Jalisco to the north; to the South with the state of Michoacan and the Pacific Ocean; to the East with the states of Jalisco and Michoacan; to the West with the Pacific Ocean and the state of Jalisco.
The proximity to the Pacific Ocean has become a strategic advantage, as it allows connectivity to national and international markets.
Colima is one of Mexico's 32 states and represents 0.29% of the national territory. It has an elevation of 1804.46 feet above sea level.
Colima is located 194 kilometers from the city of Guadalajara, one of the most important cities in the country. It is also close to the downtown and Bajio industrial corridor, as it is located 239 kilometers from the capital of the state of Guanajuato and 596 kilometers from Queretaro.

The total state area is 5,625 km² and is divided into 10 municipalities: Armory, Colima, Comala, Coquimatlán, Cuauhtemoc, Ixtlahuacan, Manzanillo, Minatitlán, Tecoman and Villa de Alvarez. The state capital is Colima, and is the most populated city in the state.
