There are more than 2.4 million economically active people in Guanajuato, occupying the second place in Mexico with the fastest growth rate of the young population.

The state has an education system based on industry needs with more than 25 university campuses and 30 state training centers (IECA) to develop local talent.

In addition, the state has created an education system focused on boosting industry:
- More than 250,000 high school students enrolled in technical education
- Nearly 80,000 young people enrolled in engineering
- It has an annual offer for more than 5,000 engineers
- There are 45 universities with an engineering program on 77 different campuses


Each year, about 1,532 students graduate from technical schools focused on engineering and manufacturing, while about 5,266 young people graduate from high school.

In Guanajuato, there is also the State Training Institute (Instituto Estatal de Capacitación - IECA), which has 27 training centers where just over 69,194 people have been trained, and 144,627 students are preparing to enter the labor field.

It also has five technology parks: Agrobioteg, Tecnologico de Monterrey Park, UIAC, GTP and the La Salle Innovation Park.

Guanajuato has training centers throughout the state:

1. Bécate: Training scholarships so the new personnel acquires and/or reinforces their skills
2. Dual Training: Crossed Skills Training program under the dual educational model) in Guanajuato State, focused on the companies requirements and supported with the different dual models.
3. Just in Time: Foresees the personnel requirements (technical level) of the companies in process of installation in order to help them cover their talent needs in time and with the necessary skills
